BECCA Ever-Matte Poreless Priming Perfector [Review]

Today we are researching another water-based primer, the BECCA Ever-Matte Poreless Priming Perfector!

BECCA advertises the Ever-Matte Poreless Priming Perfector as…

Velvety-textured, oil-absorbent and lightweight. It’s supposed to make your skin smoother and help with uneven skin tone, fine lines and other imperfections. All of this despite being completely oil- and silicone-free. It’s made to soak up sebum and give you a nice, matte finish, so it should be ideal for those suffering from oily skin.

Will your makeup really stay looking fresh all day, like they promise?

Well, yes. But this product is for oily skin only (that is if you want it to look its best).

According to user reviews it’s rather effective at keeping your skin matte, even too much so for those with dry skin. So to avoid blotchy foundation, apply only on the oily parts of your face. The users who suffer the most from oiliness found that they still need to correct their makeup during the day, but most of the reviewers were very satisfied with the result.

For many the application of the product was more or less difficult. You only need a small amount and will want to work it into your skin by patting, not rubbing.

This primer seems to work well with sensitive skin. It doesn’t contain fragrances and doesn’t cause breakouts. Cruelty-free.

Ideal for: People with oily or combination skin who want a matte look that lasts all (or at least most of the) day.

Pros:

  • Controls oiliness efficiently
  • Blurs large pores
  • Little goes a long way
  • Good for sensitive and acne-prone skin
  • Great for humid weather
  • It has a short ingredient list

Cons:

  • Difficult to apply
  • Can make your skin look chalky
  • Not suitable for dry skin
  • Not the cheapest option out there
